Who I am
This website is run by Sally, trading as Painted by Sally, from Essex, UK. I'm responsible for any personal information you share through it, and this page explains what happens to that information.
What I collect
When you send a message through the contact form, I receive:
Your name
Your email address
Your message, and anything you choose to include in it
Like most websites, my hosting provider also keeps standard server records, which can include your IP address, your browser type and the pages you visited. These help keep the site running and secure.
Why I use it
I use your details to reply to you, and to arrange any class, commission or purchase you ask about. My lawful basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking the steps you've asked for before we enter into an agreement.
I won't sell your information, and I won't add you to a mailing list.
Where it goes
Your information is only shared with the services that keep this website and my inbox running:
Hostinger hosts this website
Microsoft provides the email inbox your messages arrive in
Google Fonts supplies the fonts on this site, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads
YouTube, which is owned by Google, plays the videos on my Videos page, so your browser sends your IP address to YouTube when a video loads
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they are responsible for protecting it under their own privacy terms.
How long I keep it
Contact form messages aren't stored on this website. They arrive by email, and I keep them only for as long as I need them to deal with your enquiry, or for longer if I have to keep a record by law, such as for a purchase.
Cookies
This website doesn't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics, and it doesn't set its own cookies for ordinary visitors. The videos on my Videos page are played by YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may store cookies or similar information on your device when you play a video, and that is covered by Google's privacy policy. If anything changes, I'll update this page.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask me to:
Show you the personal information I hold about you
Correct anything that is wrong
Delete your information
Limit how I use it, or stop using it
Give you a copy in a format you can pass on
To make a request, just get in touch. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first and I'll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
